Our History

In 1979 the Loving and Learning Educational Center was established on James Island. Founder Joyce Daughtrey envisioned a place where parents could leave their children and trust that they were receiving the very best care, a place where their children were nurtured and provided with age appropriate educational activities, and a place where they weren’t just children entering the center day–to–day, but instead members of a loving, caring family.

As Loving and Learning continued to grow, Joyce and Butch Daughtrey established its West Ashley Center in 1986.

With over 38 years of childcare experience in the Charleston area, Loving and Learning Educational Center continues to offer quality and progressive childcare.
